TIM MOFFETT: PASTOR

How did Tim move from Panama City, FL to become the pastor of First Baptist Church of Eunice?

First, God clearly led Tim and Susan to this place. Second, Tim promised to cheer for LSU when they played the Gators!

Since July of 2007, Tim, Susan, Adam, and Ashley have been privileged to call Eunice and First Baptist Church home.  Today, Tim eats gumbo like a native (with a scoop of potato salad) and has learned to pock eggs with the best of them.

It is Tim's calling to help people discover the wonder of Christ's saving work and to help people make their faith the ever-increasing passion of their lives. Tim loves to teach and preach, but his greatest ministry joy is to walk next to people on their faith journey.

Tim earned a Bachelor's degree in History from Palm Beach Atlantic College and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In December of 2015, he earned his Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

You can keep up with Tim and Susan's adventures on their personal vlog Midlife Goodlife or follow Tim on Snapchat @realpastortim

MIKE FONTENOT: STUDENT MINISTER

Mike Fontenot may have graduated high school in Texas and may have worked out of New York City for twelve years, but there is no doubt he is 100% Cajun.

Born in Ville Platte and raised in Mamou, Mike is equally at home in a deer stand or behind a steaming pot. He and his wife Jessica have two great kids, Jacob and Katie. Mike and Jessica both gave their lives to Christ at a church retreat focused on an Experiencing God study by Henry Blackaby in April of 2001.

Prior to coming to FBCE, Mike was the bivocational youth minister at First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie, LA.

Mike also currently serves as interim BCM director at LSU Eunice.

Mike desires to share the transforming power of Christ with every student he meets.  He has spoken on school campuses in Eunice, Iota, Mamou, and Basile.

Mike graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry in May of 2016.  He would one day like to visit the Holy Land and walk in the footsteps of Jesus and the disciples.

DAVID HARPER: WORSHIP LEADER

David Harper has covered the greatest distance to be a part of FBCE. As a high school senior in Eagle River, Alaska, he earned a college scholarship to Louisiana College. (Interestingly, David says the coldest he has ever been was in Louisiana, not Alaska.) It was at LC that he met Arien, who became his wife and his connection to our church.

David is a gifted storyteller. (Ask him to tell you the one about the doves or the one about the painted turtle.) Since 2014, he has served part time as a reserve deputy for the Eunice Marshalls office.

David has previously served as Children's Minister at FBCE and currently is our Worship Leader on Sunday mornings. David is the assistant principal at Elton Elementary. He and Arien have two great boys, George and John David, and a beautiful girl, Hannah Grace.

CONNIE BEAUGH: WORSHIP COORDINATOR

Connie Beaugh was not born playing the piano... It just seems that way! In addition to her gifts as a musician, Connie is the staff member responsible for coordinating all our worship services and special worship events.

Connie graduated from Eunice High School and continued her studies at UL Lafayette. She plays a critical role in the Eunice Community Choir and Band and is an exceptional piano teacher. Connie is also a much sought after accompanist for weddings and funerals. Connie is wife to Terry, mom to Ashley, Anthony, and Arien, and "Mimi" to eleven grandchildren.

NICHOLE BERZA: PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

Nichole Berza is a Eunice native. She and her husband, Chris, are proud parents to Lane. Nichole loves spending time with her family. She also loves to sit outside drinking coffee... and she loves to shop ("any place they sell clothes!")

Nichole has been our preschool director since August of 2014. She finds joy in watching preschoolers grow, learn, and move in the right direction. Nichole leads a great team. Parents are quick to appreciate Nichole's friendly face and warm greeting every Sunday, along with her attention to detail and care of the children.

Sue Cormier:  Church Secretary

Whether you call or visit our church during the week, Sue will likely be the first person you meet.  Sue has been our church secretary since August of 2014.  Previous to coming to First Baptist, she worked for Acadia Parish Schools, LSU Eunice, and previously as church secretary at a sister church.

In addition to serving as church secretary,  Sue teaches and facilitates in both Sunday School and our Women’s Ministry.  She loves to read and may be the biggest baseball fan in the building!

She has been married to Jimmy for nearly 50 years, and together they have raised five sons and a daughter.
